Thomas Jones is a seasoned financial restructuring professional with over 25 years of experience providing distressed corporate restructuring, turnaround consulting, interim management, forensic accounting, audit, and other advisory services. During the past 15 years, he has managed numerous high-profile reorganizations, out of court resolutions, corporate wind downs, and complex accounting investigations. His wide-ranging sector experience includes pharmaceuticals, telecommunications, chemicals and financial services.
Prior to joining Sherwood, Thomas held leadership and advisory roles at several financial consulting firms including Ernst & Young, Mesirow Financial Consulting, and FTI Consulting. He has extensive turnaround and insolvency experience advising troubled companies, secured and unsecured creditors, as well as private equity investors.
Thomas has extensive cash management and working capital expertise and has served as interim Treasurer for a specialty pharmaceutical company, providing strategic cash preservation and liquidity management services. He has analyzed the financial statements, net asset values and on-going viability of countless companies, spanning numerous industries. He has also managed buy-side financial due diligence work streams, including the identification of purchase price adjustments, value allocation assessment, executory contract review, cash flow analysis, EBITDA forecasting, and sensitivity modeling. Thomas also has significant litigation support experience, having managed numerous corporate investigations, valuation disputes, fraudulent conveyance actions and debt re-characterization efforts.
A Certified Public Accountant (CPA) in New York, Mr. Jones spent the earlier years of his career providing financial audit and internal controls services and managed numerous internal compliance projects at both Phillip Morris USA and a multinational advertising agency headquartered in New York. Mr. Jones is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and continues his active involvement with the American Bankruptcy Institute (ABI) Turnaround Management Association (TMA), and Association of Insolvency and Restructuring Advisors (AIRA).
